Price Radar Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Price Radar ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information in connection with your use of our Shopify application, Price Radar (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide and improve the App's competitor price intelligence service.

A. Information We Collect from Shopify

When you install the App, you grant us access to certain information from your Shopify store, which may include:

• Store Information: Shop domain, contact details, and locale or market settings needed to configure the App.
• Product Information: Product and variant titles, descriptions, identifiers, images, tags, and pricing fields for products you import or track within the App.
• Purpose: We use this information to discover competitor listings, track competitor prices over time, and display pricing insights in the Shopify admin.

Customer data: The App is designed for merchant operations in the Shopify admin. We do not intentionally collect or store your store's end-customer personal information (such as customer names, emails, or order history).

B. Information We Collect Directly from You (The Merchant)

• Contact Information: Information you provide when contacting us for support.
• Usage Data: Information about how you use the App, such as import actions, discovery jobs, and settings you configure.

2. How We Use the Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• To Provide and Maintain the App: To import products, run competitor discovery, refresh competitor prices, and show alerts and suggestions in the admin.
• Third-Party Processing: To find and verify competitor offers, we may send product titles, identifiers, and search parameters to third-party services, including:
  • DataForSEO: Google Shopping search and seller data for competitor discovery and listing metadata.
  • Zyte: Structured extraction from competitor product pages for price validation and scheduled price refresh.
  • OpenRouter (AI providers): Optional smart-discovery scoring of search candidates when you use AI-assisted target selection.
• To Communicate with You: Service announcements, security alerts, and support messages.
• To Improve the App: Understanding usage patterns and improving discovery accuracy, performance, and reliability.

3. Sharing and Disclosure of Information (Third Parties)

We disclose information to the following types of third parties:

• Shopify: As necessary to operate the embedded app and to comply with Shopify platform requirements, including mandatory privacy webhooks.
• DataForSEO and Zyte: Product and search data needed to locate competitor listings and extract public pricing information.
• AI Providers (via OpenRouter): Product context and search result snippets when AI-assisted discovery is enabled.
• Service Providers: Hosting, database, queue, and logging providers that process data on our behalf under contractual obligations to protect it.

4. Data Security and Retention

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.

Retention

We retain merchant and product data while the App is installed and you continue to use it. When you uninstall the App, Shopify OAuth sessions are removed promptly. Shopify may send a shop/redact compliance webhook after a waiting period; we process those requests in accordance with Shopify's requirements. Other stored shop data may be deleted or anonymized within 30 days of uninstall unless we are required to retain it longer by law.

5. Your Rights and Contact Information

Merchants may request access to or correction of personal data we hold about them. End-customers of a merchant should contact the merchant directly, as the merchant is the data controller for customer information.

A. Data Deletion Requests

Shopify sends mandatory compliance webhooks for customer data requests, customer redaction, and shop redaction. We acknowledge and process these requests. Because we do not store end-customer PII, customer redaction requests typically require no additional data deletion on our systems.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the Effective Date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

7. Compliance

We comply with applicable privacy laws, including GDPR and CCPA where they apply, and with Shopify's mandatory privacy webhook requirements for app partners.
